UNE MORT INVISIBLE
En hommage aux itinérants décédés, invisibles dans la mort
Ne pas me soigner si vous me trouvez.
J’en ai assez d’être trop éprouvé.
L’insécurité domine ma vie.
Toujours à me battre pour ma survie.
Un froid intense en cette saison
Alors que je suis seul et sans maison
À me cacher sans arrêt pour dormir,
Moi, habitué à ne pas gémir.
Mes mains et mes pieds gelés me font mal.
Parfois je rêve d’être un animal
Au chaud près d’un maître doux et aimant,
Bonheur vécu perpétuellement.
Quand vais-je remplacer mes bas troués?
Un temps glacial, il faut se secouer!
On met sa vie en péril en ronflant!
Des décès en dormant, trop terrifiant!
Personne ne va réclamer mon corps…
Au Québec, pas de chiffres sur nos morts…
Adieu l’enfer, car j’ai assez lutté.
Invisible dans ma mortalité.

AN INVISIBLE DEATH
In tribute to the itinerant dead, invisible in death
Don’t treat me if you find me.
I’m tired of being tested too much.
Insecurity dominates my life.
Always fighting for survival.
A bitter cold this time of year
When I’m alone and homeless
Always hiding to sleep,
Me, used to not moaning.
My frozen hands and feet ache.
Sometimes I dream of being an animal
Warm and close to a gentle and loving master,
Happily ever after.
When will I replace my stockings with holes in them?
Ice-cold weather, you have to shake it off!
Snoring puts life at risk!
Death in your sleep, too terrifying!
No one’s going to claim my body…
In Quebec, we don’t keep track of our deaths…
Farewell to hell, for I’ve fought hard enough.
Invisible in my mortality.
